Crafting the Holiday Season

This will be my last post of 2023. What a year! As we head into a new year with new challenges and triumphs, I’m not so much making new year’s resolutions as new year’s goals. I have many things I hope to achieve in 2024, and one of them involves copious amounts of knitting and crocheting, blogging, videoing, photo sessions, and dedication. I’m starting my own business this year, on a small scale, but with hopes that it will blossom into something I can sustain my life with. (Big things coming soon, don’t go anywhere!)

I suppose this holiday season was a test run. I decided last minute that I was going to make handmade gifts for my significant other’s entire family, nieces and nephews included, which brings the total to 22 handmade Christmas gifts…and I didn’t start until the beginning of November. It is perhaps safe to say that I am not always the best at planning ahead…

Unsure if I would succeed, I attempted a cornucopia of socks, hats, a bag, and Christmas tree ornaments, and much to my surprise, I got them all done with one day to spare. Here is the entirety of my crafted Christmas:

An array of handknitted and crocheted Christmas gifts.

A couple of my favorites from this collection are the black and white socks and the Poke ball, but I love how they all turned out.

So now that my Christmas test run is completed, I’ll be focusing on even more fiber arts and textile designing, so stay tuned for the next big thing, coming soon to an Etsy store near you…

Happy New Year to you all, and may bright things be coming your way in 2024!
